    May have hosed up??!!

Trying to boot to our Corporate Win 7 image jump drive via USB and F12 to boot to it.

Booted to drive to wipe/partition drive for our Corporate image (wipe to lay down Win 7)... It already had a Win 7 Pro 64 bit base Image on the SSD Drive.

    It hung and froze up.

I Booted to F12 again and switched to Secure Boot Mode ON without knowing it makes Win 7 useless.

How do I change it back as there is nothing on the display to choose options, no F2 to get to BIOS/Setup and No F12 to allow me to turn Secure Boot Mode back off.

USB Connected - CD/Rom with IBM Secure Data Disposal Disk in it spins and powers up but no way to wipe the drive thinking I could start all over again.

My concern is there is nothing displaying at all in order for me to choose any longer.

you should be able to get to BIOS by pressing F2, no matter if F2 is showing on the screen or not, just keep on pressing F2 right after pressing start, it should work, doesn't it? , I have older Latitude and I can't even choose UEFI boot, since system detects ahead of time I have no drive capable of UEFI boot (secure boot is new addition of UEFI specs), so that option is disabled. How did it allow you to change? And I think you got it wrong: secure boot doesn't make Win 7 useless, secure boot is useless IMO

What's weird is the fact that the keyboard lights up as to indicate power is present but nothing displays at all. I have not ventured to try an external display. I find it hard to believe that the graphics went south on a brand new Dell out of the box (although not saying it's possible)...

Even if it does go into the BIOS when F2ing, I can't see anything to tell what/where, etc. :)

When powering it down it QUICKLY Powers down and does not stage down after a few seconds like a normal hard boot should do.

Getting ready to "attempt" to remove the battery and HDD to interrupt where it might be "Hung"...

    Thanks for the Reply!

I'd remove the SSD and try to boot into BIOS with no drive installed., then make necessary changes there if successful.

    Good luck.

    - If you can get past the black screen, but are still unable to boot the USB drive:
1 - Put the SSD in another computer and start the Windows installation.
2 - When the first reboot is about to happen (it counts down from 10) shut down the computer.
3 - Put the SSD back in the first computer, start it and let it finish the installation.

    - It looks like this laptop has only one USB 2.0 port, make sure you use it, and none of the other USB 3.0 ports. USB 3.0 drives are backwards compatible, USB 3.0 ports are not in Windows 7 or older. (There are no drivers included, and they can't be added during the installation.)
