    Hi guys,

I just got a new computer and I would like to transfer all the settings I have from my old computer's firefox to the new one. Include everything such as bookmarks, add-ons, cookies, etc. Is there a quick way to do this?!

Awesome. For some reason though, none of the cookies and bookmarks transferred even though they were check boxed :(

I used to use MozBackup, but I've found simply copying over the profile directory to be easier.

Agreed, just copying the profile directory works like a dream. Also works great for Thunderbird and perhaps Sunbird. Retains all extensions and password as well.

Yep, I also just copy the Profile directory over to the new PC. Can even go from XP to Vista and back when you find the folder needed.

Rather than having to fiddle with folder names just copy the contents of the randomly named folder over the top of the new folder.

Nice to know that the profiles can be transferred among operating systems! Very convenient indeed.

Maybe I'm doing this the hard way- I export my bookmarks to a HTML file, copy it to the new computer, and import it there. Usually I've had the new computer running for a little while before I'm ready to do a complete switchover and I've accumulated a few bookmarks on it already. When I import bookmarks they get added to the new ones that are there.
