So far I've tried both Firefox (my preference) and Chrome after I got annoyed at FF's intermittent freezers.

Now there are not crashes, but intermittent freezes that occur when scrolling or if I start moving and clicking stuff while the page is still loading.

This incurs a huge time loss on my part by having to wait until everything is fully loaded before I click on anything.

This does not occur on my desktop while using FF, so I'm not sure why it happens on my laptop with FF and Chrome. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very glad to hear them.

I have this issue too with the latest FF in my laptop with Win 7 64-bit, not there in my work desktop with Vista 64 bit. FF is also using the CPU much when viewing web pages with flash animations.
I don't have any issues with IE 8.

I guess I ought to try IE8 as well then because Chrome does the exact same thing as FF. Bleh.

    I can't believe I will have to use IE8.

EDIT: IE8 is doing the SAME thing. I am very annoyed right now.

If you only have freezes in Webpages could be a background running process or a bad add on.
If you do freeze in Desktop as well could be harddisk failing.

I was having the same issues with FF on mine, but the it all went away when it updated to 3.5.7. It sounds more like to me that either an addon is messed up, or you've got a bug running around...

I just completely uninstalled Firefox, Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader. I just reinstalled everything again, I'm checking it out now.

It's odd that it only happens on laptops and not desktops.

I did notice that if I set firefox to the highest priority in task manager, it would reduce the frequency/eliminate the problem.

It's your Intel wireless driver that's causing this problem. DPC latency.

You have to disable the wireless card using device manager. My opera and chrome no longer freeze after trying that.

Some people recommended Version 11 or earlier Intel drivers; they were reported not to cause any latency issues.
