Does anyone know of some good online music purchasing sites?

I was using zune marketplace only because I use a zune, but I have had nothing but trouble (i've gotten ripped off too many times). Also, I do not want to use Itunes. Any good choices out there (drm-free is a must)?

What about Amazon's MP3 store? It's pretty good, and as far as I know, they are DRM-free.

I usually use Amazon MP3, and I'm happy with it.

lala.com may be worth checking out too...

How did you get ripped off too many times? The price person is about the same as itunes. 3/4 of the songs are also DRM-free encoded using 320kbps mp3 if you buy them. If you want, you can also use the suscription service so you can keep on renewing your song collection.
E.g. refresh your zune with 10GB of new music every month.

I also use Amazon MP3 and have been very satisfied with it. Good prices and DRM free.

I consider not being able to listen to purchased songs being ripped off.

I pretty much have had every problem found here:

Did your zune pass expire? If it did, it's normal for you not to be able to listen to your "purchased" music. That's how suscription works.

If you want to listen and keep your music, you have to actually buy the songs.

Did you buy the DRMed songs and trying to play on other devices other than your zune or in zune software?

This is why I buy CDs - Amazon sells them at a god price :)

By the way - if you speak German - try out "Saturn" - www.saturn.de - just chose any location - they are a large retailer of all sorts of things, music, computers, washing machines etc. - back in Germany I used to buy CDs there - they also have an MP3 store - although I have not tried it.

I use iTunes. they allow me (from switzerland) to buy stuff. amazon doesn't. and they have a huge palette of music. and no drm anymore => close to perfect.

for music i'll mix, i mostly buy from beatport.

Lol, no! I am not an idiot.

    Edit:
I want to say that Zune marketplace isn't crap, but it has simply just caused me enough headache to want to move to another shop. I also want to say that the zune software (not the actually zune) is a pos software. I consider the basic windows media player to be better. Other then that the actual zune player is quite nice.

I use Amazon and eMusic. Both have good quality DRM-free tracks in MP3.

There is a slight chance that Legal Sounds might be legal if you are downloading within the borders of Russia. It is not legal to download from this site anywhere else in the world. Legal Sounds holds a "distribution license" that was legal under USSR copyright, but which is not recognized by any record company, and which does not conform to international copyright treaties.

Hm, then it is quite opposite what the name implies then. They happily take your money regardless of where you are from. :(

Upon reading further into it, LegalSounds sounds like definite trouble, regardless of where you live. The whole purpose to buy from them was to get music for cheaper while supporting the artist...which the latter sounds like it just doesn't happen. I just don't agree with that so I take back my suggestion. I would just go with Amazon or iTunes then. LS sounds like an example of "too good to be true".

I'm afraid that's the case. No one can offer major label tracks for a lower price because the labels get most of the money. If it's that cheap, the labels are getting cut out. The only option that is less expensive than iTunes and Amazon is eMusic, and that's because they don't carry major labels.

For me, mp3va is my choice since a year ago. Before that, I used Amazon. But then I know mp3va, and I'm falling in love with their price charge and their wide collection of songs and albums.
