Is it possible to buy a recovery disc for a Asus U50F-RBBAG05?

I reinstalled someone's laptop with a fresh installation of windows 7 home premium, however, they keep having problems. The web browsers that they use such as firefox, internet explorer, chrome constantly crashes.

Unfortunately, I deleted the recovery partition thinking I would not need it (how wrong I was) and they are not sure if the laptop came with recovery discs or not.

They never had a problem with the factory settings that the laptop came in originally, so I have decided to reinstall using the recovery discs instead.

    Thank you for your time.

You sure that something you do isin't wrong?

Don't take it personally, but you know, 99% of the problems are sitting in front of their PC's. :)

One of my PC's had problems with browsers crashing all the time. It ended up doing a Memtest boot disk to test the ram and one of the sticks was bad.

    Thanks for the replies

    The site is estore.asus.com

For some unknown reason, the problem continues to persist. I have done dozens of installation and this is the first for me.

I just got fed up with it so I decided to shell out 100 dollars to get the recovery disc and overnight shipping. I just want to get this over with.

Try what Fred said first, it is highly possible that it is your hardware. Does any other programs crash?

I will do that once I get back. I actually hope that is not the problem because I shelled out money for that recovery disc and a little good part of me would die inside.

Another problem is, I also did a reinstall on a desktop computer downstairs and they are also having problems with the browser.

The only thing I did was download windows 7 home premium from microsoft, updated everything, installed windows 7 service pack 1, and they still have a problem?

If it is what you guys say, what are the odds that the ram for the notebook and desktop failing on me :(

I will keep you guys posted

Have you tried turning Hardware Acceleration off in the browser settings? Also have a look in device manager and see if there are any problem devices highlighted. You should also look in the Event Viewer to see what error are listed.

I have installed OS using the recovery disc, and all is well

I am running the memtest from the CD, exactly how long should I run it?

Also, I was not specific in my original post, the web browswers do not crash immediately. They just crash after being used which varies from 10 - 30 minutes.

I run it for about 40 minutes but others say it should be run much longer. When the RAM in my PC was bad the browser would crash at random, some times 1 minute sometimes 1 hour. When I ran Memtest with bad RAM it had errors within the first few minutes but this is not always the case.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to run it for that long and I was only able to do it for 30 minutes.

I just hope everything turns out well. However, another problem arose while I was reinstalling everything.

The external monitor that the laptop was hooked up shows only a black screen and would temporarily turn on for a few seconds then stop when I plug and unplug the connection. However, that is another problem entirely that has nothing to do with me. It just makes me look so bad though . What are the odds of everything breaking around me :p

Yes, helping people can cost money, but I think you deserve your own rep for being a good sport.

    +1

As it is, in addition to memory issues with browser crashes, I find other big causes are ati and flash crashes (make sure video card drivers are up to date) and those infernal tool bars.

On a new system, it doesn't take long for those dang toolbars to get loaded up....grrr
