I have a Compaq Presario C712nr notebook with w T2310 @ 1.46ghz per core and 1gb of DDR2 memory. I am running a fresh install of Vista on it, and have been encountering issues where as I'm typing, the text will stop moving forward for a moment and then pile up when it regains whatever composure is needed. Please tell me how I am to go about resolving this. Do I need more memory, or is it a problem with Vista?

Does this happen with all applications? Did you install all of the required notebook system software and drivers? Have you checked the HP/Compaq board on this forum for instructions on how to install Vista on your model?

And; no, no, and no. HP/Compaq is worthless when it comes to providing stable and updated drivers and documentation, so for the most part I've gathered mine from source sites, though things like the wireless card and the touchpad were taken from the site. Honestly, I'm rather sure at this point it might be related to memory, but I was hoping to get insight. -
I didn't mean the HP site, I meant the HP/Compaq notebook forum on this website. Usually HP/Compaq users can give guidance on how to install an operating system.
I'm pretty sure your notebook is like most others - there are specific system software and/or notebook drivers that are required for stable operation. Those must be downloaded from HP/Compaq, and usually are installed immediately after the operating system is loaded.
