IE history/temp clear up:

Yeah, I can do it from IE, but I wanted CCleaner to work cause I like the program. But thank you, I will check your link out!
EDIT - Yes, I have the exact same version. Maybe installing it again shold do the trick. Meanwhile if anyone else has suggestions it would be greatly appreciated!
thanks. -
I like CCleaner too, but keep in mind that it does not remove unwanted stuff securely.

Funny thing is that my antivirus considers CCleaner infected. And so do Hotmail. Runs fine if I deactivate the antivirus.
-
Hmm, maybe its an anti-virus conflict with AVG? Allright guys, would you say just going to IE and deleting stuff from there is enough?
thx again -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in Vista don't you have to set CCleaner to Run As Administrator in Properties to get the program to actually "clean" anything? I had to do this in the RC builds of Vista.
-
Yup, I had the same problem. R4000 is right, you need to run as admin or disable UAC in order for CCleaner to delete files.
-
How would we go about doing this?
-
Hard way is to R click the file and then Click "run as administrator"
Easy way is to R click file, Properties, Compatability tab, at the bottom it says "Privilge Level" check Run as administrator.
DON'T undo UAC, this is where the good security starts have defeated several worms with this already. Works just like my iBook, so if it's OK for Mac, it's OK for Windows. -
I think I have run as admin and it still doesnt work, but I havent tried o "easy way" out yet, so will do that.
thx for your replies guys. -
