How safe is CCleaner's built in registry cleaner? Is it okay to have it clean all the options or just a couple? Thanks

Yes, it's safe. I've been using CCleaner for literally years with zero problems. This subject has been brought up many times and only a few people (I could literally count them on my hands) have complaints.

I've been using CCleaner for a long time and have never had a problem.

RegScrubVistaXP has caused me problems in Vista, as it cleans to deep.
I only use light cleaning now, ccleaner seems fine!

As far as i know, the CCleaner registry cleaner is safe.
-
It's very "SAFE?!". Mistakes do happen, so make backups, just to be sure.
-
been using it for months, no problems
-
Ill vouch that its safe aswell. Used it on 5 systems with no issues. You can choose to backup your registry before you clean anything.
-
It's been good for me, no issues ever!
-
Have been using it for 1 year, no problem at all

worst case, it destroys the registry. you backed it up, so it doesn't matter. you can restore your registry from the backup.
haven't ever needed to do that personally, but i still make backups when i use the registry cleaner. -
i NEVER make backups wen it asks me to.. in hindsight i probably should have, even though IVE NEVER had a problem with CCleaner... which is the important thing.
-
Yes, been using it for a long time and always make a backup! No problems whatsoever (though I dont know if the other issue I am having the resizing/moving appplication windows in Vista Ultimate, please see my other thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=266150 , is connected to this!!! Guess its not!!)

If there hasn't been enough people saying it's safe. Add 1 more for me.
-
Perfectly Safe. Very Conservative Too.

I started using CCleaner when I had some serious problems with Vista HP, and some threads I read recommended it, and it did seem to help the computer run a bit better, and certainly didn't screw anything up. I recommend it.
-
I used it several times, fixed about 200 things (unused file extensions etc) from 2 years worth of loads of installs and uninstalls, never a hicup.
-
Been using it now for over two years, on three different systems running both Vista and XP, and I haven't had one single issue with it. I happen to think that it doesn't clean thoroughly enough.
-
I only had one problem in years. It was to a friends computer somehow erased some controls for his printer connection. Never really forgave me.
CCleaner's built in registry cleaner SAFE?!
