This may have already been discussed but I could not find anything.

I tried burning an audio cd today and the system canceled itself. I was using itunes and I know it can be moody sometimes so i tried windows media player and I got the same message. I have had this issue before but I changed blank disc brands and I have not had any problems until now. Could it be a form of virus? I already ran virus scan and it did not find anything. Or could it be a bad cd drive? I am clueless and I know nothing about computers. Any advice before I take it to best buy would be fabulous.

I am moving this to Windows as it may get you some responses.

Can you expand a bit more as what "system canceled itself" meant?

    cheers ...

Yes, expanding on the issue may be an idea.

I had a CD/DVD drive in my old laptop which apart from Sonic Stage worked fine and burnt CDs/DVDs - then it stopped on DVDs... later CDs too I think - it had failed.
It may be interesting to see what you get if you can get hold of an external drive - however I don't think there is a point in buying one for you.
(I did at the time, I needed a drive)

Step 1. Run defrag on system drive and drive holding data to be written, unless this is something you are already on top of.

Are you trying to copy an Audio CD or are you burning, say MP3 files to make an Audio CD?
