So I'm trying to burn an audio CD on a CD-R so I can play it on the care. I inserted a blank CD in the CD drive and tried to burn the music tracks with iTunes and Windows Media Player. Both had no problems completing the burn but when the burn process was finished I was just left with a blank disc. Then I tried to use WinAmp to burn the audio CD and got this error:

Error during audio CD burning process.
Library error:The SCSI command sent by the function returned a check condition.
Drive error: logical unit not ready, long write in progress

Google searching the error returned no solutions so I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to fix this error. I'm going to try using other CD burning software but I doubt that it would work.

I don't know what caused the error but have you tried burning on another brand of CD-R? I had a similar problem several months ago on some older TDK 4X discs that I had for some years. My HP laptop refuses to burn on them, the burning process completes and indicates finished but the disks are blank. My Sony desktop burns on the CD's perfectly. Other brands of CD's work as they should in my HP.

Another thing you can try is to delete the CD burner in drive manager, reboot your PC, and let windows reinstall your CD burner.

    Edit:
It would also help to know what OS you are using, if you have ever been able to burn on the CD-R's with the software you are using, and if you recently made any changes to your OS or hardware.

Thanks, I'll try that out when I get the chance to. This is the first time I've tried burning onto a CD-R although I've successfully burned .iso files onto DVD's. I haven't made any changes to my hardware and I'm using Windows 7 Professional x64 now.
