I was wondering if anyone could tell me why Roxio burn software will not detect my drives. I have a Slimtype Combo SOSC-2483k burner and each time I try to load Roxio easy CD creator, it tells me that it is incompatible. I have gone out and downloaded the XP migration, converters and any other files that will make it compatible, but it will not recognize my drives. Anyone have any suggestions? I have tried NERO, but NERO does not give you the option to create a drive: letter CD R/W. Out of options and need to get it to work.

Your copy of Roxio may be tied to a specific drive manufacturer. Same with Nero. But if the drive isn't already detected as a letter, you have a bigger problem than your burning app. Check out your drive manager and make sure it's getting assigned a letter in the first place.
