    CDs in dvd player?

    is it possible to use a CD as a DVD in a DVD Player on a TV?

    I remember the option of creating a 'Mini-DVD' in Nero Express. :p

    depends my brother... my dvdplayer can play divx for xample.. so i just burn a movie in a cd in avi format and presto... so... i can very much say yes if ur dvdplayer can play it

    is it possible to do it with a CD-R that has something on it already (i have loads of CDS that have like 100mbs used or less with just pics or songs..)

    Try it out on your player.
    My dvd-player can read multi-session CD-Rs..(Divx)

    For the divx/dvd player, I guess .avi or .divx (basically divx encoded).

    A VCD? I haven't done that in ages, since DVD-R's are so cheap now. As I recall MPEG's were the most commonly accepted format. But it all depends on the DVD player. Some wouldn't read VCD (video-cd)'s at all. While others can do several formats. The DVD player manual will tell you what formats it accepts.

    Look for the VCD option in Nero. I think it might even handle conversions, as necessary.

    VCD research seconded. It depends entirely on the player... no, you can't do it with just any DVD player, but most newer players have VCD playing options, as well as things like mp3 CD playing, or picture viewing, and so on. I know I thought mine was pretty cool that it played mp3 CD's until I got my media center computer hooked up to it ;)
