I have repeated chkdsk index errors on my Lenovo T61 with a Hitachi 5K320.
When I run chkdsk /f, after a reboot/hibernation or two later, the index errors reappear. I also often have BSODs after I resume from hibernation. I have ran a HD Tune 2.55 Error Scan and its passed. Should I be concerned?

    I'd say yes.

Especially if these errors continously reoccur.

    Try CrystalDiskInfo
    http://crystaldiskinfo.en.softonic.com/ (one of many lnks)
If your SMART data is off then you may want to consider a new HDD or SSD?

    I'd say no

I'd read about this issue for years but only recently had a chance to get my hands on a machine that did it. My investigation and solution can be found here:

It's a bit long winded and I was trying to work through the problem online with some other users who proved invaluable in slogging through the mess.
