I keep getting this clr error 80004005 every time i try to open up some of my programs. im not sure how to fix it, and i have tried every single fix, save wiping my hard drive. any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to be related to .net. Try uninstalling the versions you have and reinstalling from the MS web distributor/installer.
-
i did already, it didnt work. ill try again though.

Try using this
.NET Framework Cleanup Tool User's Guide - Aaron Stebner's WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs
that is the .net clean up tool. Remove ALL versions of ,net, then reinstall them and see if program works -
ok so i went and ran the removal tool and that worked but in the middle of installing .net it says rolling back and then says: "Installation did not succeed"

ok i figured it out, apperently there was a left over folder, in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET., called assembly, i renamed it assembly2, then uninstalled the .net framework, then reinstalled it and it worked. this was such a pain and im just glad its over.

Hi aduy,
I'm so thankful for your advice in post #8! I had problems with .net framework for ages and each solution I tried did not lead to the wanted result.. Renaming this folder lead to a succesful installation! Thank you
