Hello all, I have a little problem. When i am plugged in, the CPU runs at 1.86GHZ, but once i unplug it goes to 800MHz. That is okay. and i want that to save on battery life. Once i plug back in, it still runs at 800MHz. At idle the with AIM, and 1 tab open on FF, it runs from 80-95% CPU.. I thought it would automatically switch back and forth... What should i do about this. Thanks!.
Edit: I also did click around the power settings, i set it to max performance, and the CPU still stays at 800MHz.
Edit 2: I just restarted the computer, and now runs at 1.86Ghz.. once i unplug the computer, and plug it back in, (just did it) it stays at 800MHz.. I just also opened 20 tabs in Firefox, and Chrome, and opened up Program google earth, and still reads 800MHz. Is that the only way to get it back to full speed is it restart the computer every time? With all that open, i am at 94F........

Does Dell install SpeedStep? That, and out of date chipset drivers might do it..

Would you mind disabling it completely?

Dell will be installed step by step.you have installed Asus ACPI driver.I'm experiencing similar battery performance under Windows 7 on a 904HA.I expect it might be something we have to live with.I notice Asus didn't provide Vista drivers so I'm not holding my breath for Windows 7 support.
CPU Speed On battery, then plugged in.
