I have Lenovo 3000 Y410 laptop which came with Vista Home Premium. I did a clean install of XP and now the camera is not being detected. I have installed the drivers, but no use. Can anyone out there help me in this.

    Thanks.

Just check Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service is running... You can check it by entering services.msc in Run dialog box.... There if you scroll down you can see that service and its status....

Also make sure the Camera is listed in Device manager without any yellow icon near it....

Hi, i have checked in the device manager and there is no exclamation mark shown over there. Regarding the service, i will surely check that.

Ok, I can't remember what the options are called, because I am on Vista, but here are the steps to follow.

First of all, there is a patch for Microsoft usb camera, if this is not installed before the camera driver, your windows will not shut down after you installed your camera. Can remember the KB, but just do a search.

Go to device manager, go to imaging device, right click usb image device (basically your camera), choose to update driver, choose no, then choose the option NO something to install manually, then find use HAVE A DISK option. Browse through to where the downloaded driver is, install it then you should be fine.
