I successfully upgraded my Sony Vaio from Vista to Windows 7 about two years. Now I'm trying to clean up my laptop and reclaim some diskspace. I notice a folder "C:\Win7Upgrade" that takes up more than 2 gig of space. Does anyone know if this can that be deleted?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum, You should be fine getting rid of that folder.
But to play it safe I would do 1 of the following: (I would do step 3)
1. go to recycle bin - properties - and set custom size to at least 4000 MB for all drives listed. Then delete the file and reboot.
2. move the folder to a USB drive
3. Create a system image to an external hard drive, then load win 7 and delete the file (good idea to have an image incase of any unrelated issues also)
Use the computer as normal and if all is well delete the folder from where you have it backed up. -

Hi mhp214! JOSEA's advice is pretty solid. I would go with his second suggestion, as cloning is a little more involved than a backup (but it may prove to be more of a safeguard). Whichever route you take, that folder should be perfectly safe to delete - just ensure you have a backup of it, either per suggestion #2 or #3 in JOSEA's post. That way you can undo anything that causes problems.
Can I delete the win7upgrade folder on my C drive
