I am currently using Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my notebook. The OS package has 64 bit and 32 bit discs. Because some programs are not compatable with 64 bit I would like to set up a dual boot using both. Given that the serial number is the same for each OS, is it possible to do this?

Unfortunately, I cannot remain logged in, so I'll not be able to see your responses for a few hours, but I'd appreciate all suggestions and comments.

You can dual boot, but I don't think you can maintain a same serial on 2 separate OSes(each version is considered a separate OS).

You realize 64-bit Vista/7 can run most 32-bit programs right?

lets find out why the OP thinks that they want/need to dual boot in terms of program support.

I'm in favor of using the most capable (64 bit, win7 pro) OS as the primary os on a machine and then running various other OS as needed via virtualbox.

As soon as Eagle97 chimes back in we can find out what programs he might be having problems with.

You can dual boot 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 (same version) with the same product key as long as the computer hardware is the same.
