I am currently using Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my notebook. The OS package has 64 bit and 32 bit discs. Because some programs are not compatable with 64 bit I would like to set up a dual boot using both. Given that the serial number is the same for each OS, is it possible to do this?
Unfortunately, I cannot remain logged in, so I'll not be able to see your responses for a few hours, but I'd appreciate all suggestions and comments.

I'm pretty sure you can.

You can dual boot, but I don't think you can maintain a same serial on 2 separate OSes(each version is considered a separate OS).

^ Oh yeah, I never took that into consideration.

if the serial is oem then there should be no problem

^^ But not all of them.

lets find out why the OP thinks that they want/need to dual boot in terms of program support.
I'm in favor of using the most capable (64 bit, win7 pro) OS as the primary os on a machine and then running various other OS as needed via virtualbox.
As soon as Eagle97 chimes back in we can find out what programs he might be having problems with. -
You can dual boot 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 (same version) with the same product key as long as the computer hardware is the same.
Can I dual boot with Vista 64 bit & 32 bit?
