Ok Im thinking about getting a new lap without an os. I have a copy of vista home prem that came with my dell 1530. Will I be able to install this onto my new computer? Is this legal.
    Thanks for any info

You'll be able to install it, but you'll need a new license for it. You won't be able to use the same license. What operating system will your new laptop be coming with? Why not just get the laptop with Vista pre-installed?

I was hoping not to have to buy a new os. So the computer will be coming with no os.

You cannot legally do this, and will need to purchase a new copy.
