I like this feature where I just type the first letter and the address is already in the bar, in Chrome.

In Firefox I first need to press arrow down. Can I make FF the same?

How to turn on AutoComplete in FireFox

    1. Enter about:config in the address bar
    2. Right-click on the page and select New -> Boolean value
    3. Create a preference name called browser.urlbar.autoFill (case-sensitive: 'F', not 'f')
    4. Double-click on the value you just created and set it to True.

AutoComplete excludes secure login forms like https:// ..something..something

Ah, I was wondering why it wasn't working. You have to include "www.", anyway to fix that?

I think there might be a fix:

Gmail Known Issues - Gmail Help

Look under Logging In, 6th line down where it says "Notifier cannot connect to mailbox with 'Always use https' setting enabled ".

I don't have a Gmail account, I would not know.

Well actually I meant with any website (I didn't try Gmail, or any mail).

I have to enter www.g (for example) to get Google to show up, instead of just entering "g".

My firefox searches bookmarks, so when I type "noteb" I get Laptop Reviews - Notebook Reviews and Netbook Computer News & Reviews on the dropdown-list, selectable by enter. My bookmarks are shared by xmarks, so same works with this Chrome.

That just requires you to have all your favorite sites in your bookmarks. And if you do, it'll work in a fresh install immediately, no learning.

Edit: except this forums software kinda messed my example :) So it bolds the noteb part of url first.

Nope. I tried just entering Google without the "www." and then tried the search, and it still wouldn't auto complete. Only when I entered the "www.g" would it then work.
