I am about to purchase a DELL E 1505. It comes with Vista. Will I be able to load MS Office XP on to this laptop running Vista? I already have Office XP so I dont want to pay to get the laptop with Office pre loaded.

I'd like to know too. Why spend money on Office 2007 when we own Office XP pro.f

Yes, you can put Office XP onto a machine running Vista. And you can update to SP3 afterwards. Should be no problems at all.

There shouldn't be any problems. Nor are there problems running Office 2007 on XP.

Yes you can... and for the best part now... the compatibility issue might even be better than vista... for now...

I installed office XP Pro on my 6400 last night that is running Vista Business and (eventually) it ran without issues.

There was an issue with Outlook where it will not store the password to the mail server, but that might just be me.

It took two rounds of updates to apply all the needed patches. I took the first one, and then Outlook stopped responding. Went back to updates, and took another round of updates and then it worked fine.

I have checked excel and it is go to go. I have not worked with Access yet to see how it functions, but I am assuming it too is fine.
