This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Can IE8's Developer Tools actually edit pages?

    All I seem to be able to do is save them locally, not make any changes server side.

    Yes. I am asking if I can use IE8 to edit major corporate webpages. That is a reasonable question, right?

    I am clearly not asking about using it as a Development Tool on my own pages.

    It is not designed to do that...it is designed to "quickly debug Microsoft JScript, investigate a behavior specific to Internet Explorer, or iterate rapidly to prototype a new design or try solutions to a problem on-the-fly"
