Mac's OS X has always had somewhat of a very clean, prestige feel to it. Mostly because of the dock and vacant desktops. After trying Win7 I feel like it matches that, and depending on how you use it, can feel just as clean.

Do you think it will have that same kind of prestige?

Cleanliness is a preference enforced only by the user. Apple would like you to see clean desktops all the time, but that isn't the case out in the real world (I think it is disgraceful how OS X and Windows handle having too many icons to display on the screen).

I've personally run clean desktops since Windows 98, but it is a personal preference. Some people like having everything accessible in front of them no matter how messy it looks, and I'm glad that operating systems at least grant the user that's choice.

As for prestige, pah, who cares about that game? Worry about getting what you need to done, and leave prestige to people who wear fancy jackets and begin every sentence with "I say, ..."
