    Hi,
After spending some time on this forum and looking for answers I realised it would be great to have a website where many switch stories are gathered in one place.

I have launched http://switchstories.com and I would like to ask you to write a story if you have switched to Windows Vista. It is a hot topic and it will be great if you decide to share your experience.

We already have one story - My Mac So Far - A Diary and it covers a switch to MacOS X. But many people ask for Vista...

If you are interested in publishing your story, please get in touch using the form: http://switchstories.com/contact/

    Great thanks!

Yes similar. XPS M1530. But maybe something more colourful is needed, hmmm...

For generations XP was the defender of the PC. But that was before the dark times, before the EMPIRE! A young OS named Darth Vista hunted down and killed XP till it was all but extinct.

I'd say that's the beginnings of a good story!

    Same with my T61p.....

This isn't going to give you that diverse of an opinion on Vista and laptops...as the XPS M1530, ASUS G1S, and Lenovo Thinkpad T61p all have very similar options, and run Vista very well.

I would love to contribute, but there really is nothing more to say than I use both and enjoy both. My transition to Vista wasn't a bona fide switch, since I still use XP a lot. I feel they both have strengths and weaknesses. That is why I didn't get rid of XP altogether. I do, however, use Vista more than XP.

Once upon time there was a wizard. The wizard took on an apprentice to assist with the incantations for DOS and then for OS2. However, the apprentice, as it often turns out, was secretly working on his own incantation for Windows, having slayed several dragons to steal the plunder for it. As the wizard grew old and tired, the apprentice took on the role of wizard and continued to make progressively more elaborate incantations, each more confusing and intricate than the one before. Until came the day when the wizard who was the apprentice looked up from his spell books and realized that he had neglected to procure an apprentice to follow in his place.

    Same here (for my dv6400).

I did try a Vista upgrade to my V5201 early on, but the only sound driver available was scratchy (so I went back to XP).

I need something that is fast and affordable. I looked at Dell's prices and looked at Apple's prices. Humm, 160GB harddrive vs 80GB harddrive.

I needed something that runs COD4, Sins of the Solar Empire, COH, BioShock, Crysis, etc..............

I look at the Mac gaming shelf and then looked at the Windows gaming shelf.

    End of story.

I love how the windows users are quick and efficient. Nothing like GTD.
