    Can anyone explain this?

Ever since I started using my 3G USB Modem my temperatures went up about 6-8C all across the board. I have been using NOD IS for a long time now but I have been hearing a lot of raves about NIS 2009 and decided to give it a try. I uninstalled NOD IS and installed NIS 2009. I noticed that my memory usage did go down, with NIS 2009 basically using no memory whatsoever (5MB), this coming from the 40mb usage with NOD IS, so I was pretty stoked. I think my svchost is using more memory (around 60mb), but overall it's still lower by a good margin, if not by an exceptional margin as I am not totally sure about my previous svchost level, but I do think it was around 47MB.

I then went to open HardwareMonitor and this is where I see a huge difference---------> temperatures were back to normal! The 6-8C increase due to using my 3G modem was gone. It's back to normal temperatures.

I have done nothing besides install a printer driver and uninstall nod and install NIS.

Can anyone explain how/why the temperatures went down? Makes no sense to me....

Did you notice any change in CPU usage? Also did you factor in that it is getting cooler or was this a same day difference?

Might have been a few hours in between checking temperatures, but that's about it, IF that.

CPU usage is about the same, no difference as I can tell. I have RainMeter so I can see the CPU activity and in both before/after scenarios it's at about 0 unless something is running.

Thinking back, this is the second anomaly I have encountered with NOD. About 8 months ago my CPU usage from start-up would go on a upward trajectory towards 100%. I uninstalled NOD and it went away.

    I don't know man. haha
