I use a laptop, so I only have one DVD-RAM drive. For the program that I used to burn CDs on my old gateway, I would simply put a cd in and the program would burn a temporary image of the CD to the HDD. Once the image was on the HDD, I would just put in a blank CD and the image would be burned to the CD-R. The image was automatically removed from the HDD once it was burned to the blank disc.
Are there any good free DVD ripping programs on the internet that work in this fashion, or would I have to burn the image and delete it manually?

to put a DVD-movie onto a blank DVD-r, you must first shrink the dvd size so that it will fit.
DVDshrink does this better than any other program, and its free.

Then it will create an .iso of the dvd. Then burn that iso with IMGburn, which is also free.

Another vote for DVDShrink.

+1 DVDshrink. It's easy and fool proof.

Most DVD`s now have copy protection , DVDshrink is old and will just spit it`s dummy out, their are ways round it but i dont think they can be discussed here.
Can anyone recommend a good free-for-download DVD ripper?
