I have a couple of computers on which XP is installed, there is XP COA, but I dont have the discs. Can I still use nLite ?
What if I use a restore disc from another laptop ? Will this mess up the drivers for the first one ?

Is the I386 folder on the C:/ Drive?

No..............
Does it make a difference ? If so, how ? -
You have no hope in making an XP disc.......
Maybe order one from the manufacturer? -
The contents of an install disc have to be copied to a folder somewhere on your computer so nlite/vlite can work with it.

So nLite will be able to pull off the drivers off the original computer ?
In particular, I have install discs for thinkpads, but the computer in question is an HP laptop -
Unless the Manufacturer custom made the disc, if it is a DVD, delete the OEM folder, and then burn in to a disk.

Dont all manufacturers custom make install discs ?

OK... generally they do, they integrate drivers as well as bloatware into the xp cd. As Thomas said these are normally located in the OEM folder on the disk, which is therefore what you should delete. However the chances of this working are 50/50, since u cannot be for sure how much the manufacturer has integrated their software into the cd, meaning the OEM folder may contain required system files, or there way be more junk hidden in other folders that require oem files. Don't worry about drivers for ur lappy, just install them afterwards, they do not need to be integrated into the install. If your not worried about space/speed just leave the oem folder and slim down as much as you can, i wudnt expect any problems.

I want the drivers to be integrated into the install ...
-
then in the drivers section of nlite, just add the drivers for hp

as said, you need to have xp in a folder to direct nlite to-it's the first thing it asks.
It also allows you to direct it to additional specific drivers, etc. You should install nlite and start it just so you can see the many options.....
Can nLite be used without the installation disc ?
