    Hi all.

    Im having a problem w/ activating my Retail copy of windows vista...

    I know its one key per PC.. but arent you allowed to transfer it to another pc if you get a new one?

    i just got a dell replacement and want to put my windows ultimate on my new computer and activation is telling me the key i used is already in use...

    How do i deactivate the key off my old computer?

    Just call the provided microsoft number during activation and they'll take it from there, I guess :)

    The key must've been used multiple times. Retail OS you can activate up to 4 times while OEM I believe 1. Just call phone support and they'll reactive, let them know whether it's retail or OEM and you're re-installing.
