The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Try deleting just .torrent instead of .torrent.file or w.e.

    I need to bring everyone up to date.
    Starting from PAGE 3
    ... I ran ChkDsk
    ... I can't overwrite
    ... I have NOT run registry cleaner yet
    ... I tried deleting the files through the cmd prmt:
    cd users\V\desktop
    del (filename)
    ... doing the following did not work
    cd users\V\desktop
    dir (to determine file name and "extension")
    del (the above)
    --> leads to file cannot be found
    ... TuneUp --> IN THE PROCESS OF.
    ... tried KEGOBEER's dir /x
    it did reveal a longer name, but led to same outcome, system cannot find file.
    ... replacing spaces with underscores, didnt work.
    ... I had previously removed Vuze - didn't work.
    ... There's no way I can find the same torrent.
    ... To "COOLMINE" yeah, I know, but please keep in mind, I've literally tried every possible string. I have tried the filename without the .file.

    I"M NOT TRYING TO IGNORE ANYONE! sorry if you feel that way, i'm just trying everyone's solution!


    The file names (copied/pasted from desktop) is:
    [Torrentsworld.net] - Funny People [2009] [High-Quality] DvDrip XviD.torrent
    [Torrentsworld.net] - Funny People[2009][ENG]Best Quality XviD.torrent

    from dir /x, it is:
    _TORRE~1.TOR [Torrentsworld.net] - Funny People [2009] [High-Quality] DvDrip Xvid.torrent
    _Torre~4.TOR [Torrentsworld.net] - Funny people[2009][ENG]Best Quality xvid.torrent

    Well, firing up a linux live cd and delete the file would fix it for sure in worst case scenario :p Beats reformating

    Wow, that software was amazing.

    It even recognized the files as problematic highlighting them red.
