I'm trying to look at a video embedded in Firefox. I know it's Windows Media Player that should be playing it but it won't. It just says "Click here to download plugin." but I already have WMP. Does anyone know how to get this to work?

Which version of Firefox and WMP are you using? Reason I ask is that I noticed that when I already had WMP 11 installed and then upgraded to FF 2.0, then WMP quit working. When I downgraded WMP back to version 10 it started working again and then I redid the upgrade to WMP 11 and everything was fine. So I think it may have something to do with the order in which the respective apps are installed/upgraded. I do, however, have the issue of WMP videos coming up looking "squished" when I play them in FF now.

I went from 10 to 11 Beta back to 10 and Firefox 2.0. I forget when I installed the two programs though.

This thread over at mozillazine has a few links in it that may help you out. The thread itself has to do mainly with the squished video issue, but a couple of the links in it address issues with getting a balky WMP to work in FF as well.
