    Hey all,

    Having a rather weird problem...

I am having problems going to yahoo or google.

Each time I attempt to go into these search engines,

I am shown the following message:

    The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

It is only the search engines, yahoo and google, that I am having problems with. All other websites that I usually go to are working fine.

Anyone know how to remedy this problem?

edit: I am able to access gmail if that provides some sort of information. Was thinking it could be some kinda internet censorship since I am in China now. But in my few months here, I have no problems with yahoo. Any faults with google will at most last a few minutes with that error above...

Nope it doesn't work. Not sure whether its a fault with my notebook or the interent...

Seems like yahoo is working now! Ah, I guess it must be something wrong with the connection then...

edit: all's back to normal now! Guess I 'freaked' out for nothing...

One thing that often happens in countries where some google services such as youtube are blocked is that google sometimes rotates servers and IPs. So an IP that was used by youtube is now used for google search or gmail.

This causes the search to be blocked since the IP is black listed. Not sure if its same for yahoo.

In case you want to access censored sites, try using open DNS. (It worked when I was in Vietnam, the gov blocked facebook)
