Quick overview that I'm posting on here since this is a Notebook-focused forum.

I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite L300-03C and I can't boot into Vista without it freezing/crashing on me. I can boot into safe mode and Live CD's with no problems. But regularly booting into Vista ends with the system abruptly shutting off "click" or freezing on a blank screen with a variety of colors (Teal/Light Blue/White/Green).
What I've done:
Replaced the HDD (old one had a corrupt MBR and many bad sectors).
Removed the WIFI and Modem cars and tried booting with both out, one in, etc.
Installed Vista onto the drive by plugging the HDD into my desktop. Windows setup always freezes on a blank colored screen when trying to install it using the laptop.
Tested the RAM. No issues found during a 7.5 hour Memtest86+ run.
====
I'm thinking that there is some issue with something that Vista loads during a normal startup and that is causing the crashing/freezes. Since it freezes during Windows installation as well, perhaps there is some hardware//driver conflict that is causing it to freeze.
At this point I don't know what to do. I have to have the system back to the owner in 3 days and I don't want to tell her to just buy a new notebook and keep this one as a backup to browse the internet using Live CD's only :/
Can't boot Vista. Safe mode and Live CD's work with no problems.
