Can't boot into anything but my bios

I followed the Clean installation guide on these forums to create the flash tool to install Windows via USB. I have used it before with great success, often with a hiccup or two that I resolve because I have done something silly. .

I have backed up my personal files so I am ready to reformat and do a fresh install.

I make sure boot order is correct and follow all the steps. It appears to be working until it reboots the first time and tries to start the entire process all over. The guide just states that your system will reboot but doesn't say anything about it trying to start the process over.

It's at this point that I go rogue and start deleting/formatting drives (using disk part) as I restart the instal. In the process I delete my recovery files in error and long story short, the machine will ONLY boot to bios.

I have tried rebooting and hitting ESC, F2, F8, F11, F12, keys individually. I have tried to enter SAFE Mode but can't.

My bios used to show my USB (lexar) stick by name but now it just states usb so did I somehow corrupt the installation files or do I have a bigger issues looming?

The laptop is an MSI Raider GE73VR 7RF if that matters.

Surely there has to be a way to NOT post into the bios and do a new installation.

Try switching to AHCI from RAID and see if that works.

 

I didn't have it in Raid to begin with, but honestly, I don't see that setting in my bios :/

Some call it SATA Controller or Disk controller in BIOS.

 

Make sure you haven't set the USB Flash Disk as the first boot device otherwise every time the setup restarts your computer, it will boot to the USB Flash Disk and start over again.

What I do is I set my USB Flash disk as my 2nd boot device and when I start the computer, I simply keep hitting the F11 key (that's the boot menu options key on an MSI laptop check with your laptop manufacturer which key gives you the boot menu options) to get the boot menu options, then choose the USB Flash disk. This way, when it does reboot during the setup, it boots straight to your first device which ideally should be your internal storage drive.

 

Computers should be tackled when one isn't dead tired and one definitely shouldn't go rogue.

Somehow the USB drive got messed up, but using the GF laptop, I got it up and running again, downloaded the OS tool again, and made sure NOT to forget to set the usb to Boot #2 and not #1.
