None of those options are really working...I know I have administrative privileges enabled on my user account. Even when I open the file in windows photo viewer I can't right click and set as desktop...hmm

what if you right click on your desktop, click personalize and then click desktop background and then select an image can you change it then?

it could be the image your are trying not sure if you've tried a different file.

in looking for a solution one user said they could right click a picture in firefox and set as background and it worked....not really a solution but you might try that

another said this "I have solved my problem. In C:\Users\USER\ i had all AppData subdisr hidden, I only made visible its and now i can change my wall :O." <- in other words right click AppData and uncheck hidden don't know why it worked but multiple users stated it did

some other links that 'might' help i know they may not apply directly but there may be something you can get out of them to help with your problem

If you create a new user account and intend to delete the other one, make sure that you give admin privileges to the new account or you'll regret it.
