    My laptop is a little older and I just wiped it clean but can't find a driver for my ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 on the official site. Should I just get the driver for the regular Radeon 9000? or a higher end Mobility 9000 series? Thanks.

    EDIT: and in case it helps, the computer is a Dell 600m

    You plugged in your service tag on Dell's site?

    Since u didnt specify what ur confused about, ill answer both...

    dell's website is an online webpage created by the company dell to sell and support their products. www.dell.com

    service tag is just that, a specific code for ur computer that dell uses to service ur machine, whether it be downloading drivers or fixing it. its like a serial number for other things, or the vin for a car. it identifies ur exact computer. you can plug that into dells support site, and it will give u alist of drivers to download for ur specific machine

    You can use regular radeon 9000 driver but you need modified inf to ensure it runs well. Try googling modified inf for radeon 9000/9100

    And for my input, not to answer your original question but your second. To put your service tag in automatically, edit your OEMINFO.ini

    [Support Information]
    Line1=When contacting Dell Computer for support, please have
    Line2=the following information available.
    Line3=
    Line4= Service Tag: xxxxxxx
    Line5= Express Service Code: xxxxxxxxxxx
    Line6=
    Line7=For online support, please go to http://support.dell.com
    LINE8=For 24-hour technical support, in the USA, call 1-800-BUY-DELL

    The xx should be located on the underside of your laptop. Then when you logon onto the dell support page, click on the get my service tag number and it will scan that file and know what your number is and have a list of drivers for you. Enjoy. :)
