I have a Dell Dimension 4550 running vista ult. but i cant get any sound drivers working. Any help here?

Does the Dimension 4550 have the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card in? if so check out this link. http://support.turtlebeach.com/site/kb_ftp/585.asp
If it does have that sound card it looks like you may well have problems as it is discontinued and they aren't producing Vista drivers for it.
If you got a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital card in it which seems to be the other sound card option on this machine then have a look at this thread:

or

If all else fails (both these sound cards are discontinued so you may have problems) you could try the onboard sound card. You'd probably have to enable it in your bios then Windows "should" find it on boot up and download the correct drivers. Good luck! -
I think I got sound working using this: http://support.turtlebeach.com/site/kb_ftp/585218360.asp
You won't get any support from them though. -
Still no luck when following what you guys posted... I need audio ASAP

What sound card do you have installed right now? Once we know that, we'll be better able to help you with your sound card problem.
