When I go to run and type in "msconfig" I get an error. Ever since installing XP SP3 I've had numerous problems and this is one of them. Is there an alternate way of getting there? I tried Search but it didn't pop up. Can i RE-DL msconfig somehow?

what exactly do you want msconfig to do? there are manual ways to change settings other than using msconfig. For example if you want to change services at startup just type in services.msc
There are however a couple of things you can do to repair any problems after sp3. I'd seriously recommend downloading tune up utilities from http://www.tune-up.com/download/tu2007/
run the 1-click maintenance & registry cleaner followed by a registry defrag. If you want to speed up your comp. you can run the other optimizers as well. This should clear up any errors in your registry/ restore missing components.
msconfig is an application (.exe) so if the above doesn't work just download msconfig from
http://www2.whidbey.net/djdenham/Msconfig.htm
download the w2k version, i tried it on vista and it worked fine despite the os difference -
So...what exactly is this "error"?

yes i know that. also im aware of 3rd party apps that can disable startup apps such as windows defender, ccleaner, revo and etc. but thats not the point. its annoying me that i cant get into there.
no, i dont need reg cleaners or defraggers. i have no errors in the registry -
Error:
Windows cannot find 'msconfig'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. -

Check if Msconfig.exe is in this folder.

ok well you just added that. wasnt there when i posted. i saw that page when i googled my problem. however, im not going to try it when my OS isnt even listed. its for my xp pc not my vista.
