    Hi,
About a month or 2 ago I was at a hotel and used their internet service. I have to pay $5.99 for it. Ok, first time for that but I need to get online.

I think it lock up or something but I needed to restart and I was unable to get back on line? Ok, fine.... So when I got home still nothing.......

I have not been able to figure it out since. I'm basiclly dumbfounded.

    Help.

I have it set up next to me so I'm going to try again and see if I can be more clear.

Did you install any software to use the hotel's internet connection? Have you checked your network settings?

Well, it seems that checking the network setting help. I found the highspeed internet turned off, when I clicked on it it seem to enable itself.

I had downloaded MS Defender on here and copied it over to my other laptop. When it was done it gave me an error that I looked for on google it said "Incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings." but the instructions were too involved and I didn't try it.

There seems to be a windows update downloading so I'll see what that is before I try anything else.

In the mean time, everything is running super, super slow......????

Pretty much have it running good again.
Thanks for putting me in the right directions.
    Update to IE7,
    Downloaded;
    CCleaner - done
    updated Avg - scanning now
Download and ran Windows Defender - Working good.
Downloaded Windows Melishies something - scaned for close to 2 hours - no problems found.
Window update completed and everything updated.

This is a great site, read lots of posts last night and used lots of suggestions to other people problems that I also was having.

    So far so good.

    Thanks everyone.
