I'm trying to get to the part of Adobe's site where you can load the macromedia settings manager but I can't get to any pages on the Adobe site at all. Does anyone know if there is some kind of problem with it?

Alternatively, is there some other way I can get at the macromedia settings on my computer? Where are they stored?

I have an Acer laptop and I'm trying to enable the screen saver to use my webcam.

Thanks but that is really strange. I've tried clicking on the link you sent and got the same reply as always which is that the web page cannot be opened. I don't think it can be my browser as I've tried it on a diffierent computer (not Windows) on the same network and had the same result.

Thanks for the suggestion but That dosn't seem to make any difference. I wonder if it could be something to do with the firewall in my router?

could be, u can try disabling it - if your using xp or vista then the inbuilt firewall should be fine. If it doesnt fix the problem then try reseting the router/pc.

You should try removing and reinstalling your flash plugin. That could be causing it.

I've just discovered the cause of the problem. It was my software firewall (F-Secure). I've now got onto the Adobe site OK. Thanks again to everyone who responded.
