Hi, as I'm new to the forum I would like to say hello to everybody. I have huge problem and I hope someone can help me. I've got an Asus U32VJ with pre-installed Win8, however I want to install Win7 instead. All what I want to do is to boot the notebook from USB flash memory stick or external DVD drive, run installation, format the C drive and istall fresh copy of windows. When following the instruction to go to boot menu on startup there is no option for USB flash drive or external DVD drive.

    Can anyone help please?

    Very desperate

Sorry for my grammar and spelling
    Adrian

You will have to boot into the bios and look for the area to change your boot order to allow booting from usb or cdrom/external.

when you boot, quickly look for something that says "press f2 to enter setup". I'm not sure what key it is, but it should say something like that.

Hi, I think it will be worth saying that I have 3 USB 3.0 ports, no USB 2.0 There is boot section in bios, but you have to create boot options and I can't find anywhere what I should put in there. I theory when booting up you press ESC and you get boot menu, you choose the device to boot from and off you go, but when I do this I don't get option for the flash memory or external DVD drive.
I was reading somewhere about similar problem and it looks like so hardware problem, as before you get into windows, there is no USB 3.0 support and that is why you can't see devices connected to that port. I only have USB 3.0 ports. How do I install windows without built in ODD and without USB support?

JOSEA's link to Jim Feldman's post should do it for you OP. CSM emulates a BIOS environment under UEFI. So you won't be able to install Windows 7 under UEFI, but you can go back and disable CSM after you're finished with your install.
