If I posted this in the wrong forum I apologize.

My problem is this, I try and burn a homevideo dvd and after a while my computer just restarts but before it restarts my screen turns blue for a split second with a long message I never have time reading.

I have been able to burn dvds before with my laptop so I doubt it is a hardware failure?

The problem started about a week ago. I reformatted my
hard drive and installed all drivers that were on a disc that came with my HP dv4000.
After I did that it all worked fine.
Then today it starts all over again...

Does anyone know why I'm having this problem?
Please, can someone who is good at computers help me out. I just bought the laptop. :(
    Thanks in advance :)

What software are you using to burn the DVD's ? Do CD's burn ok ? Can you burn a data DVD ? What software made the dvd files could they be corrupt ? Have you tried different media ? (DVD+/-/rw) from different vendors ? Have you gone to HP site to look for newer drivers ?
