As the title says, can't open anything, Recycle Bin, Computer, from anywhere, taskbar, start... Even after restart and explorer manual restart. Didn't install any software since this started.

    Anyone had something similar?

Shortly after booting up my machine (for the first time after configuring Windows 7), Explorer would freeze randomly and I would be presented with a brief error message each time. After rebooting, everything functioned perfectly and has ever since. Hopefully this is some sort of minor bug that will work itself out for you!

I assume you've already tried a system restore?

Might you have a bad left mouse button on your touchpad? Have you tried an external mouse. In the past when the batteries on my USB Wireless mouse die my first reaction is to think the system is locked until I use the touchpad. :)

No, didn't do anything like that. Infact yesterday it was working fine, I turned it off and on today again and this started happening.

    It's turned off.

No, it's not the mouse, I tried with keyboard. With eveything else mouse works perfect, opening a program from a shortcut on a desktop works but a "MY Documents" doesn't.
    Thanks for your answers.

    virus scan?

malware often does not activate until after a reboot.

one common technique used by malware is to shadow explorer in order to hide it's own files. explorer will be very slow, especially in the system directories. a new variant might have been badly written and be hogging everything while trying to control your view in explorer.

Start up the machine in Safe mode and run a full system scan.
