My computer used to be fine, but I did a clean install of Vista, and reinstalled Media Player Classic, CCCP, and CoreAVC as per the instructions found here:

    CoreAVC - CCCP

But now I can only play everything up to 720p. With 1080 I just get frozen images but the sound plays fine. Anyone know how to fix this?

Could you post your laptop's specs, and also please make sure that you are using the version of MPC-HC that CCCP has installed. What version of CoreAVC have you installed?

Please open the video in MPC-HC and tell me what items are listed in the Play-> Filters menu so we can find out what filters are being used that aren't working.

    I have CoreAVC 3.0.1 installed.

    Intel i5-2410M 2.30GHz
    4GB RAM
    Intel HD 3000 DX 11

    Listed under filter:
    Default DirectSound Device
    Enhanced Video Renderer (custom preferred)
Audio Switcher (has a sub menu)
    CoreAVC Video Decoder
    ffdshow Audio Decoder
Location of the file I'm playing

I don't know what this means, sorry :(

What about if you uninstall CoreAVC and then tick LAV video on the first page of the CCCP Settings application?

I'll try that, if that doesn't work I'll try to uninstall everything and then reinstall everything. Will report back!

Did this and everything works fine now. Thank you for your help!
Was the LAV Video option supposed to be unchecked in the first place?

Yes, however according to what I have heard it will be activated by default in the next CCCP release.
