    Hi all,

For some reason, my laptop now won't playback "protected" dvds anymore in media center or in wmp. I get the error code C00D1163 . I have the most recent (i think) drivers and catalyst control center software for my ATI x1270, and i know some dvds play back on it fine. But apparently the ones im now trying (arrested development season 1) give me that error in both WMC and WMP.

I looked around online and kinda came up short w/ a solution. I've heard you may hafta like change the drivers for your dvd drive, but i havent touched the software for my dvd burner so i dont think that's it. Any resolutions/help would be greatly appreciated! I really don't wanna hafta resort to doing a system restore and a fresh install and losing everying :(

Do you know what happened around the time it stopped working? You could try a system restore to that point (or as close as possible).

If you can find updated firmware for your DVD player, you could try that. Otherwise, maybe updating the decoder will work...
