HP notebook 9500, VISTA home Premuim.
Two levels of problem: can't delete desktop icon; throws screen to light white with desktop faintly visible; eventually window asks whether to end "windows explorer" or "wait for program to finish." it doesn't.
Can't uninstall a program that can be found[I/] with an explorer search (checked hidden files etc) but DOESN'T show up in "All Programs" or any listing of programs. Components of the program show as desktop icons, but I can't even delete them (as above).
Tried to uninstall Vonage but icon remains.
    Any help greatly appreciated!!!!
