I downloaded Firefox to my computer, but when I opened it up it couldn't access and websites at all. IE 7 still worked though; what do I need to tweak to get Firefoz working?

It just looks like it would when you don't have a internet connection. FYI-I have Vista.

I know this may sound stupid. But you said you downloaded it, did you also install it? :D

    Firewall probably is blocking it.

Is your installation of IE7 configured to connect to the internet via a proxy?

    To Blondie-yes, I installed it.

To Waveblade-how would I unblock it?

To AKA-I didn't do anything with a proxy that I know of.

If you are using a 3rd party firewall (i.e. Zone Alarm, Norton etc..) then you should be able to find it somewhere in the firewall settings. If you are using Windows firewall then add FireFox to Windows Firewall settings > Exceptions. But as I remember you don’t have to specifically add Firefox (it works automatically).

To view Proxy settings go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings

With Vista, why are you using the horribly insecure Firefox as opposed to the battle hardened and Sand-box enabled IE7?

When Firefox gets sandbox support (which it won't--it's not embedded into the kernel like IE), then we'll talk .

IE7 looks and feels like a version of Firefox from 1999. Also, IE7 Protect Mode is not a panacea.

I think you'll like the current FireFox better than IE7, and so encourage you to work out the firewall issues.
