I try to install a fresh copy of win7 on my Acer laptop but cannot boot from usb disk. I did everything, boot order, legacy, bios update etc. I've even tried UEFI bootable disk. Still cannot boot from usb disk, its directly load the windows 7. What would be the problem?

What did you use to load windows 7 onto the USB thumb drive?

Clarify: what source and program are you using; source being a downloaded copy of Windows 7 or Windows 7 from a DVD?

Sorry for the late reply and thanks. Well I've tried to install with win7 usb tool and a genuine copy of win7 ultimate. Actually I've tried every possible way then I found something on the internet like installing from internal HDD. I created a partition on HDD just like USB stick and installed from there. But I still wonder what was the reason. Coz I've been installing win7 on many computers for years.

Thanks for the tip. I always use that tool while installing Window. But this time it didn't work somehow and I really wonder. I played on BIOS many times, upgraded and downgraded the BIOS but it was still nothing. Like I said in my previous post I finally handle. But I wonder how you disable other boot options?

Does the USB drive show up in the F12 boot menu (Not BIOS)? While the BIOS boot menu can show devices that aren't available, the boot menu usually only shows available devices.
    If F12 won't work.

Last resort: Put the HDD in another computer and start the install, shut down at the FIRST reboot, put it back in the Acer and power on.

If Mats suggestion does not help (it should), let us know what BIOS you have (Phoenix, Award, AMI , etc). Most BIOS's I have worked with do have some way to disable boot options but not all.

UEFI an Secureboot is a real pain, I have been trying to boot Memtest86+ on an external dvd and i cannot get it to detect at all on my Asus T100 :( , it has an American Megatrends bios and it came with win8.1
