You take a wallpaper thats smaller/bigger/same size than the screen and try to fill, fit, tile, or center it will not do it. It only happens to HP Dm3s w/ Nvidia grpahics cards as far as Ive seen. We went into Regedit and maually change wallpaper style from 2 to 3-5 and it always changes it back to 2 after a restart or log out.
So we know that the registry is going back to what was there before and refuses to change. We tried the original graphics card driver, the new one, and also the OEM NVIDIA.

well one thing that you made a mistake on is that we didnt make the changes in the bios, but under regedit using an admin profile. still with no results

Maybe stupid question, but have you tried making another account and changing the desktop wallpaper in that account?

HP has a wallpaper picture position enabler. Have you tried that?
