    Dear All,

I am having trouble connecting my mobile (sony ericcson C905) to my laptop via bluetooth. I have BT enabled in both, devices set to show (visibility), and I also tried removing the device and adding again...

The problem is both my laptop and the cell phone are able to connect initially, recognize etc. But I cannot do anything further, like file transfer's, using phone as remote etc. I have checked the COM port' and all settings. They all look normal.

Can someone please let me know what could be wrong / what should be done?

    Many thanks in advance.

PS., I have been using the laptop and the phone for close to 2 years now, but this issue cropped up out of nowhere!!! By the way, I tried reinstalling the BT software, etc too, but it didn't solve the problem.

And I'm not sure if this query should go in the 'networking and wireless' section. If it should, can the mods please move it there? Thanks and sorry for the trouble.

    Cheers.

On my phone, I needed to first establish the partnership with a usb cable, then after the bluetooth would work

The only glitch I got is when trying to send files from my Nokia phone to the PC. I had to manually set the bluetooth device to receive an incoming file. I'm pretty sure I was able to sync automatically between phone and PC before.

    Thanks.

@ gerry - the usb cable thing didn't work either :(

@ Nara - tried to set the BT device to manually receiving an incoming file, but it just doesn't establish connection in that case!!

    Fixed:

This morning, I tried again in uninstalling / reinstalling the widcomm bt software and the software on my phone, and now it's working fine.

I have no idea why it didn't work when I did the same during the last two days!!!! Anyway, just wanted to drop in a word. Thanks.
