My cousin is having this problem and I have tried to solve it for him on his Vista notebook over the phone but have had no luck. Basically what happens is when he tries to view an image he gets an error saying: error loading photoviewer.dll

I could have sworn he mentioned something about being corrupted but now he denies it. He's not very good with computers so..

Anyway a forum search mentioned this site:
    http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/105/1/File-association-fixes-for-Windows-Vista.html

But it was of no help. Any other ideas?

Run a virus scan. Does this happen with images of all extension?
